Bonus Post Before the Trip
Brett Tomko labored through another start for the San Francisco Giants last night. Fans were getting frustrated by his inability to throw strikes, as he worked through a 20-minute, 43-pitch first inning while spotting their rivals an early 3-0 lead. Fans jeered at him throughout the game, whilst bounching beach balls incessently amongst each other...
...wait, what was that? Oh, you say Tomko pitches for the Dodgers now? Sweeeeeeeeet.
Brad Hennessey: Major League Pitcher. When no one else could throw strikes, he got them out of a bases-loaded, one out jam by actually throwing strikes. Meanwhile, Zito reportedly asked, "Str-ike? What is this.... Str...ike you speak of?"
And someone please tell me why Dave Roberts is still a starter? This guy is utterly useless as a hitter, much less a leadoff hitter. First two at bats: 2 pitches, 2 pop-ups. Isn't your leadoff guy supposed to take a few pitches so you can see the kind of stuff the starter has that night? Roberts is officially my least favorite Giant. Yes...he has passed Feliz. Monumental day, no?
